Not sure what the best behavior of DcmSCP would be, but I tend to keep it as is. However, at least the current documentation should be much clearer. I will change it in the next days. Thanks for the hint Hafiz.

Best regards,

Hi,

take a look at the dcmdata documentation. For me it's the first hit in google for "dcmtk create DICOM file".

Best regards,

As said, try storescp --help to see a short help page. Or read the manual online. Shortest version: storescp 104 starts the tool listening on port 104.

The client does not receive the images if you send a MOVE request, but instead the server you have to start at the same time, e.g. storescp. I think it's explained in the tutorial I quoted. The storescp documentation tells you how to set the output directory (-od), or calling storescp --help. Best, ...

Hi,
the tutorial page you quoted says it all. The code retrieves the images. Please make sure you read the introductory text of the page. If this does not help, read the DCMTK PACS debugging tutorial.

Michael

Hi, you can use the related DcmItem methods, see details in the API documentation . If you inserted binary data (e.g. image data), you might try the findAndGetUint8Array() method . In general all the findAndGet...() methods list the DICOM data types (VRs) they work for. The dcmdata API start page sh...

Hi,

Look at the dcmrecv application in dcmnet, which uses the DcmSCP class to implement a DICOM storage server.

Hi, the item is not copied by your insert call. Thus it will be deleted on deconstruction of the first as well as the second dataset, which will cause a segmentation fault. You must copy the item first, i.e. try DcmItem *newItem(pItem); if (newItem) cond =pDstDataset->insertSequenceItem(dcmDstTag, n...

Hi, if the same works with Study Root, the server simply seems not to support Patient Root. There is no requirement what the server must support, though, most support Study Root but less support Patient Root (and even less Patient/Study Only which also has been retired from the Standard). Best, Mich...

Hi,

most likely not a DCMTK problem. Check logs/your tools at the receiver and check at the PACS.

Best,
Michael

Hi, read about compiling c and c++ code in general. You need to tell Visual Studio which libraries it should link to your executable. Every c/c++ file is compiled as such, and in the end they are linked together into an executable. If you link "dynamically" (as you seem to do) then the com...
