dcmprscp: segfaults when nmap-probing the port

#1 Post by parigaud »

Hi,

i tried running dcmprscp with the default config file dcmpstat.cfg
and the default printer defined there as configuration IHEFULL
on port 10005.

This does work, but when it gets nmap-probed:
nmap localhost -p 10005
the program segfaults:

Association Received (127.0.0.1: -> ) 2009-05-0819:03:53
Bad AppContextName:
Association Reject Failed:
0006:0303 DUL Finite State Machine Error: No action defined, state 1 event 7
Segmentation fault

The error message is correct, the segfault is probably a bug. Can you provide details: operating system version, which DCMTK version or snapshot, configure/compiler options used, etc.
running dcmprscp with the --version option would be a start.

i tried this with two versions, with the same result (segfault).
here are the respective dcmprscp --version outputs:
----------
a)version 3.5.4 (current stable), normal build without options (other than a custom install path prefix):
$dcmtk: dcmprscp v3.5.4 2005-12-20 $

dcmprscp: DICOM basic grayscale print management SCP

Host type: i686-pc-linux-gnu

External libraries used:
- ZLIB, Version 1.2.3
- OpenSSL 0.9.8h 28 May 2008
----------
b) snapshot from 20090507, built with debug enabled (and a custom install prefix):
DcmDataDictionary: Loading file: /my_install_path/lib/dcmtk_20090507_debug/share/dcmtk/dicom.dic
$dcmtk: dcmprscp v3.5.4+ 2009-05-07 $

dcmprscp: DICOM basic grayscale print management SCP

Host type: i686-pc-linux-gnu

External libraries used:
- ZLIB, Version 1.2.3
- OpenSSL 0.9.8h 28 May 2008
-------------------------
both the stable and the snapshot were built under linux (opensuse 11.1) with gnu c++:
g++ (SUSE Linux) 4.3.2 [gcc-4_3-branch revision 141291]

This bug has been fixed today - the fix will appear in the next DCMTK snapshot.
