Hi All,
I have some dicom files in which patient date of birth is coming as "0" where as patient age is present(031Y).
Should i treat such dicom files as Corrupted dicom file or not ?
Thanks in advance!!!!
Thanks,

Do you mean Patient's Birth Date (0010,0030) has a string value of "0"? Of course, this would be incorrect (see definition of VR=DA in DICOM PS 3.5). An empty element value would be ok, since PatientBirthDate is of type 2 in the Patient Module.

Hi,
Thanks for your quick reply.
Yes dicom files are coming with Patient's Birth Date (0010,0030) with string value "0".
So should i treat such files as corrupted or not ?
Thanks,
Angad Nath

It is a violation of the DICOM standard, but how you treat it is up to you (because it depends on your use case).
