movescu from PACS with skipping already existing files

#1 Post by ChristianHerz »

Hi,

I have a question regarding the movescu process. It's a special case:

During the transfer of series to the PACS the user can use movescu to download a series which invokes the following problem: the user gets now information about the current status of the PACS e.g. ("You requested series XYZ and I am currently getting the slices transfered") so that only the currenltly available frames are transfered to the client.

E.g. After the PACS got all frames I want to repeat the process but with skipping the already transfered frames that are already placed in the output directory.

Are there any ideas about that?

Or is there any flag where I can skip the existing ones?

Cheers

Hi,

this is not really a DCMTK but a DICOM-related question: There is no straigth way to receive missing slices from a Series. You can make a query on the IMAGE level (e.g. using findscu) before starting the retrieve with movescu to find out which objects are on the PACS and compare that to the objects that you have available. I do not a way to completely automate that, you would have to write your own set of scripts around movescu/findscu.

Best,
Michael
