reading DICOMDIR file in CD to get DCM files

#1 Post by ali.farhoudi »

Hi.
I'm trying to read DICOMDIR file in CD to get included DCM files's path.
Is there any tool in dcmtk package to get the paths?
Or is there any way to give the DICOMDIR file to some tool (like storescu) and the tool send all data to storescp server?
Thanks

If you need a command line tool that extracts the file paths, you could use dcmdump or dcm2xml.
Or is there any way to give the DICOMDIR file to some tool (like storescu) and the tool send all data to storescp server?
The dcmsend option --read-from-dicomdir (+rd) does exactly this. Please note, however, that dcmsend is not contained in the DCMTK release 3.6.0, i.e. you have to use the latest DCMTK snapshot.

Thank you Mr. Riesmeier.
I tried dcmdump and dcm2xml.
That was very good. I didn't know these tools can be used for DICOMDIR file.
Thanks a lot.

Is there a complied binary exe for Windows for the dcmsend utility? I have been using the storescu.exe but would like to try the dcmsend for sending a DICOMDIR file from a CD to a PACS.
