DCMTK addOverlay()

I want to write a text Annotation into a image.who can tell me how i do it.
I intends to make use of a funtion addOverlay() for adding a overlay plane
But i don't know how to use it.
Please help me ! Thanks a lot!

You cannot write a text annotation into an image with the APIs provided by DCMTK. In particular, the presentation state module (which you seem to be referring to), will permit you to generate a presentation state object that may contain textual overlays, but it will not actually render the annotations (i.e. convert the text into a bitmap).
