Usage of modility LUT with applied GSPS

#1 Post by Martin Bauer »

I used DicomScope to view images with presentation states from the RSNA 2005 CD (\DICOM\RADINFO\PAT1\STU2). It seems that there are some troubles when viewing the image with applied presentation state. The image looks brighter than it should be.

Maybe there are some problems with the rescale intercept and rescale slope in the image. The presentation state defines a SoftcopyVOILUT with:
WindowCenter = 1609
WindowWidth = 2394
and nothing else what could influence the brightness of the image.

Maybe you can help me with this problem.

Thanks in advance.

I guess the problem is that the image contains a Modality LUT tranformation which is not "copied" to the GSPS objects, i.e. this transformation has to be ignored by the rendering application (DICOMscope).

Thanks for the fast answer!

This makes the resulting image clear to me.
