Using an ordinary (Paper-)Laserprinter for printing

#1 Post by skopeia »

I want to get - not for documentation, but only as a basic information, paperprints of our CT / X-Ray Dicom Files.

Until now, I create it with a script, converting the dcm to a bitmap, extracting
patient information and print both after "arranging" it (automatically) in a Web-Page

Is it possible to define a ordinary Paper-Laser-Printer to print from DICOMscope ?

Sincerely

B. Müller

No, something like this is not supported in DICOMscope. The main reason for this is that we have another tool named DCMPRINT that implements a DICOM print server for PostScript printers, i.e. the "core" component of a typical DICOM paperprint server. This tool is not available for free, however. A number of OEMs are selling commercial DICOM paperprint servers that are based on (modified versions of) DCMPRINT.
