How to get the measurement of volume in a ultrasound region?

Hi everybody,

I am writing a dicom viewer application which could show dicom images and make some measurements on ultrasound region based on relative dicom tags such as length, area, time, Doppler velocity and Doppler vti.

But when I try to make the volume measurement I meet a problem. I cannot find a Dicom tag like depth or something like that. I also cannot find a formula to calculate the volume without a parameter like that.

Anybody can help me?
