unique identification of devices that make STORE requests

#1 Post by nikkoara »

What is the generally accepted best method to uniquely identify the device that makes a STORE request? I wish to keep track of the individual devices that make STORE requests to an instance of storescp. I know of (0018,1000) but that is not present in any of the DICOM files I have looked at so far (it requires special settings of the SCUs?). Thanks.

The AE title of the Storage SCU should be unique (within your DICOM network), and this information can also be stored in the file meta information attribute (0002,0016) Source Application Entity Title. E.g. storescp does this.
