I'd like to know if Dicomdir handles a lock to avoid two process to write it at the same or eventually to prevent read errors on partially filled dicomdir.
Moreover, i'd like to know why so little docuentation is provided for the DcmDirectoryRecord Class...I'm interested in removing some records from the dicom dir and this class provides the only tool i saw to handle this. Problem : I can't figure out what those purge file functions really are doing.
Thanks by advance for any help!

None of the classes in module dcmdata does any file locking.
The fact that there is so little documentation on class DcmDirectoryRecord (and on the rest of the classes in modules dcmdata and dcmnet) gave reason to FAQ #2. Unfortunately most peple somehow seem to miss the statement about "financial contributions", despite our wonderful new donations page
