We are going to support Germany and Franch in our DICOM application which has been developed in English.
Given Study/Series/images UIDs it is not big problem to organize the studies. But DCM file header tags have string values which may be a mix of English and Germany. Does anyone has similar experience
Are there any special issues in bilinqual supporting?

DICOM systems for use in France or Germany will have to support the ISO Latin 1 character set for all DICOM VRs where localized character sets are possible, and the attribute (0008,0005) Specific Character Set must be supported with value "ISO_IR 100" (see DICOM part 5 for details). This will provide the necessary character support for most western European languages, including French, German, Spanish and the special characters needed for Welsh names in the UK. You should also check Volume IV of the IHE Radiology Technical Framework which describes most "special cases" one has to take into consideration for a couple of countries, including Germany, France, UK, Italy and the U.S.
