Storescp - forked processes not being closed

#1 Post by dflee30 »

I am using storescp.exe to receive images from multiple sources using fork. Most of the time a new process is started for each send and it automatically terminates once the send is complete. However, sometimes the "forked" process is not terminated. After a while, usually once about 10-12 of these orphaned processes accumulate on the server, the original storescp.exe process locks up and will no longer accept association requests. Does anyone have any idea about what may be causing this issue? Any ideas on troubleshooting, detecting or resolving this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Which version of the storescp are you using: the one from DCMTK 3.5.4 or the one from the current snapshot?

One more question... is there a limit to the number of "forked" processes that can be active at a given time?

Thanks again.
