DICOM tag CineRate

#1 Post by MisterLee »

Hello,

We currently convert DICOMs to text files using dcmj2pnm.exe. We then parse through the text file and search for number of frames to distinguish if the DICOM is a video. We currently use dcmdump (tag "0018,0040") to get the CineRate (frame rate of the video). The tag "0018,0040" is not distinguishable (?=13618) when we initially create the text file. Is there a way to decode the CineRate to appear in the DICOM text file so we don't have to make a second call to dcmdump?

Please let me know if I am being to vague or you need more info.

Thank you for you time.

Regarding dcmj2pnm, do you mean the textual output of option --image-info? Of course, you could easily extend the tool to output more details on the DICOM image.
