'ISO_10918_1' compression method

#1 Post by isguder »

Hi all,

I was trying to read a single multiframe compressed Dicom file. As I've read the header in Matlab, it says:
JPEG Lossy Compression (9:1)
LossyImageCompression: '01'
LossyImageCompressionRatio: 9
LossyImageCompressionMethod: 'ISO_10918_1'
I was using DJDecoderRegistration code for my old format compressed multiframe dicom files and the example code for lossy compression in DJDecoderRegistration page was perfectly fine for my old data where its header said:
DerivationDescription: JPEG CQ
LossyImageCompression: '01'
Thus, can you please help me figure out what is going on there and how should I implement such a code to be able to retrieve all the pixel data from my new multiframe dicom? Any help would be really appreciated...

Thanks,

Gözde

ISO 10918-1 is simply JPEG compression. The MATLAB dump does not help much. Try posting a dcmdump of the compressed DICOM file.
