questions about WSI, multi SOP instances and multi frames

#1 Post by hemp110 »

Hi everyone, I want to create encapsulate an entire WSI (while slide image) pyramid into a single dicom file.
By referring to PS 3.3 Annex A.32.8, I want to store a tile as one frame, one level of pyramid as a SOP Instance containing multi frame, and then the entire WSI pyramid as one Concatenation in one file.
Basically I know what data elements shall be added in, yet I am a little confused about the structure of multi SOP instances and multi frames in file. I want to use JPEG2000 compression. Could anyone give me some clue or instruction?
By the way, I have a little question: Are all of the frames of one SOP instance have to be of the same size? If not, where can I add the size information of each frame?
Thanks! :)

Yes, this is what Rows and Columns specify.
