Movescu 65536 remaining suboperations

#1 Post by Cyril_S »

Hello,

By querying some PACS, the move operation works well for a study containing about 700 files. The number of completed suboperations is correct but the number of remaining suboperations is very large (starting at 65536, and decreasing as it should).

I use the movescu command line tool, version 3.6.2.

My guess is the signed short number is casted as unsigned short number somewhere. Any advice to get a consistent number of suboperations? I performed many queries to this PACS using dcmtk 3.6.0 without facing this issue.

Thanks in advance,

Cyril

According to the DICOM standard (PS3.7), the Value Representation of both (0000,1020) Number of Remaining Sub-operations and (0000,1021) Number of Completed Sub-operations is "US" (Unsigned Short), i.e. a 16-but unsigned integer. Not sure where the difference between DCMTK 3.6.0 and 3.6.2 comes from.

Thank you for the quick reply.

I'll try to contact the PACS brand and see if it's a known issue on their side.
