Processing large (gigabytes) MPEG sequences

#1 Post by csmeso »

I was very happy that you announced support for sending large DICOM elements without loading the whole element into memory in DCMTK 3.6. However, I didn't find any further information on how to use that feature (DcmWriteCache?). Do you have any sample code to get started with?

Do the new versions of storescp and storescu already support large DICOM files?

Any information would be very much appreciated.

As far as I know, only the storescu (C-STORE SCU) uses the "new" approach that does not require the complete image to reside in main memory.
The storescp still supports very large DICOM images only when used with option --bit-preserving (+B).
