#1 Post by Vikash »

Hello,

I was trying to send a few of the DICOM images a PACS server using storescu command. But getting this error

I: checking input files ...

I: Sending file: d:\vv\1.2.840.113619.2.81.325.1.11488.1.20200101.230641_0001_000001_1594942146e1d6.dcm
I: Converting transfer syntax: JPEG Lossless, Non-hierarchical, Process 14 -> Little Endian Explicit
I: Sending Store Request (MsgID 1, CT)
XMIT: W: DIMSE Warning: (KPServer,CENTURYERAD): sendMessage: unable to convert dataset from 'JPEG Lossless, Non-hierarchical, Process 14' transfer syntax to 'Little Endian Explicit'
E: Store Failed, file: d:\vv\1.2.840.113619.2.81.325.1.11488.1.20200101.230641_0001_000001_1594942146e1d6.dcm:
E: 0006:020e DIMSE Failed to send message
E: Store SCU Failed: 0006:020e DIMSE Failed to send message
I: Aborting Association

I have successfuly transferred so manhy files but having issues with thsi partiuclar type of images. This is the trasnfer syntax UID of the images.
JPEG Lossless, Non-Hierarchical (Process 14) [1.2.840.10008.1.2.4.57]

Kindly suggest and help me find the solutino.

Does it work if you start storescu with option -xs (short version of --propose-lossless)?

If you just want to send a whole buch of DICOM files to a PACS, I would consider using dcmsend instead of storescu...

Thank you, Riesmeier.
dcmsend worked fine for the and all the images were transferred. I had tried -xs with other images which worked fine but no with these sets of images. As now dcmsed worked now just wanted to know the exact different between these two. Also, if want to change the compression while trasnferring then which one to use.

The difference is - or at least the advantages of dcmsend are - explained in this blog posting: https://blog.jriesmeier.com/2011/10/sen ... re-easily/
Also, if want to change the compression while trasnferring then which one to use.
Then, you defintely should use dcmsend since storescu is rather dumb and does not support on-the-fly-(de)compression.

I am reaching out to you with one more question.

Is there anyway, that dcmsend keeps running on cmd pointing to a folder and whenever a image drops into the folder it starts trasnferrging?

Regards,

Vikash

No, but this functionality can certainly be added by a script around dcmsend.
