dcmprint

#1 Post by hadi »

Hi
I have dcmprint evaluation copy.
Is it possible to use dcmprint as a DICOM paper print server? (ofcource postscript printer)
I've read that tcpsrv configuration file has a [Spool] section with a 'command' entry, sample is :
Command = copy \f lpt1 /b

I have just uncomment the abow line, (My printer has set to lpt1)

but when I send a printer from a viewer, it shows me this error:
The system cannot find the file specified.
0 file(s) copied.

Any help and/or sugestion?
Please write a sample command.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, that is the main purpose of the DCMPRINT server component
(tcpsrv). However, please note that the tool is primarily intended
for use under Linux or other Unix-like operating systems.

The Windows version has one important limitation: It does not support
multiple incoming connections (print jobs) at the same time, which
the Linux version does.

Sending PostScript files to the printer on the command line has
unfortunately become more and more difficult with newer Windows versions.
You should perhaps read the following Microsoft KB page:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314499/en-us

If that does not work, there are Freeware tools like
PrintFile ( http://www.lerup.com/printfile/ ) that implement
a simple print spooler for Windows and should do the job - simply
configure DCMPRINT to write PostScript files to the directory
that is "scanned" by the PrintFile tool for new files
(in tcpsrv.cfg, look for the setting "PostScriptDirectory").

Best regards,
Dr. Marco Eichelberg
