Compression Ratio

#1 Post by SamanthaYong »

Hello,

i have another question regarding to JPEG2000 compression. i have compressed mammography images (26MB), where the images have a large area of black surface. The problem is, all the images that i have compressed couldn't be lees than compression ratio 50, it stops compression before 50. Or to be precise, the compression before 50, have the same file size. What can i do in order to reach a smaller compression ratio such as 10 to 30 but with difference file size?

regards,
sam

compression ratio

#2 Post by SamanthaYong »

hello,

i have found out the answer as well, in fact the large surface of black area made a very big difference in compression ratio. mammo image with bigger breast area give me a lower compression ratio, and vice versa. thanks if you all are trying hard to look out the answer for me. :)

cheers,
