With the recently released version 3.6.2 of the DCMTK, we've changed the package version scheme: Similar to other software projects, the number at the last position denotes a "minor" version and the number at the second position (i.e. in the middle) denotes a "major" version. That means, the next minor release will be 3.6.3 and the next major release will be 3.7.0. We hope that this version scheme is easier to understand and results in less confusions for both DCMTK users and package maintainers than the previously used scheme (odd numbers at the last position denoted a "snapshot" and even numbers denoted a "release").
