Hi all !
I am trying to test the comunication between a pc and a modality.
I mean, I dont have a modality to test it, but I have a virtual DICOM printer, so i guess I can use it to prove the 'echoscu' command.
Data:
AET of printer : PRINTER
ip -->192.168.0.139
port --> 105
Test 1 : OK
-------------------
echoscu -v -aet PRINTER 192.168.0.139 105
Requesting Association
Association Accepted (Max Send PDV: 16372)
Echo [1], Complete [Status: Success]
Releasing Association
Test 2 : Error, due the port
-------------------------------
echoscu -v -aet PRINTER 192.168.0.139 104
Requesting Association
echoscu: Association Request Failed:
0006:031b Failed to establish association
0006:0317 Peer aborted Association (or never connected)
0006:031c TCP Initialization Error: Result too large
Test 3: Error , due de ip address
-----------------------------------------
echoscu -v -aet PRINTER 192.168.0.97 105
Requesting Association
echoscu: Association Request Failed:
0006:031b Failed to establish association
0006:0317 Peer aborted Association (or never connected)
0006:031c TCP Initialization Error: Result too large
Buuut, What if I have the incorrect AET ??
-------------------------------------------------
echoscu -v -aet BADAET 192.168.0.97 105
Requesting Association
Association Accepted (Max Send PDV: 16372)
Echo [1], Complete [Status: Success]
Releasing Association
As you can see, the last command returns OK !
why ? the name of the DESTINATION it is not BADAET , is PRINTER.
What If I want to test the correct name ?
Please, is there another tool to test the AET name ?
Maybe "echoscu" is the correct command and I am doing something wrong.
Thanks in advance !
Nicolas

Yes you are rightJörg Riesmeier wrote:The SCP seems to be happy with the AE title you are calling, so there is no error. Some SCPs support more than one AE title, and some even accept arbitrary AE titles (like e.g. storescp from the DCMTK).
The dicom printer can be configured to accept ONLY connections from predefined AET or can be configured to accept connections from any EAT.
In my case, the printer (virtual and the drypix3000) are configured to recive connections from ANY aet. That's the reason that I always have good reply when I do the echo.
Thanks Jörg !
