Horizontal pictures from DICOMDIR

#1 Post by ocy »

Hi,

I have such a problem. I've created a new DICOMDIR file and I need to get from it the horizontal pictures of the X-ray. Is it even possible? If is, please write me what programe can do that. It's very important.

Thank you very much

I'm sorry but I'm not sure what you intend to do? Using dcmdump, you should be able to see which information is contained in the DICOMDIR file.

That's not what i meant. I took original DICOMDIR and extracted each picture from it (it's dental X-ray and the pictures are around the head) and in each picture made some changes. Then i put the pictures back together to new DICOMDIR file so in any viewer i can look at the head. And now i need to get from the whole head look horizontal slices, if you know what I mean. I tried so many viewers and editors but none of it is able to do that.

So where is the DCMTK aspect in your question? DCMTK is a DICOM toolkit and not a viewer as you probably know.
Furthermore, DCMTK does not do any image processing (apart from the rendering pipeline in dcmimgle/dcmimage).
