creation of DicomDir for images with long filenames

#1 Post by veda »

Hi..

i want to create a DicomDirectory . my input filenames are long like
this..1.2.840.113619.2.108.1627434730.18943.1049983379.102(i.e)
SOPInstanceUID's..
when i am trying to create DicomDir through dcmgpdir application ..it
is not taking these long filenames..(it says invalid characters..in file
name).
i don't want to rename the files which i have...
i do think that there is possibility for creation of DicomDir for such files.

If somone knows solution for this ...PLZZZ...kindly help me...
It's quiet urgent...

Thanking U..

This is not correct. You'll have to rename the files in order to meet the requirements of the DICOM standard (basically: 8 characters maximum, letters, digits and underscore only).
