Hello !
At the moment, I am working on Dicom multiframe images. But there is a tag in the header I don't understand.
This tag is called MaskSubtractionSequence (0028,6100). It defines a sequence of items, each item divided in 4 tags :
- 0028,6101 MaskOperation
- 0028,6102 ApplicableFrameRange
- 0028,6110 MaskFrameNumbers
- 0028,6114 MaskSubPixelShift
I have read the dicom doc and I still don't understand what is the role of these tags.
I need your help !
Thank you
What is a Mask Substraction Sequence used for ?

Supposedly there are DICOM angiography images where the digital subtraction step must be done by the application. The application computes a mask image by performing the given operation (typically an averaging) on a number of frames of the image with a certain sub-pixel shift. The result is a mask image, and that is subtracted from all other frames of the angiography to create a DSA result image. However, we have never implemented that in practice and I have never seen any image where this could be applied.
