dcmodify +te does not work with my DICOM-file

#1 Post by hollebolle »

Hi everyone,

I have created a DICOM-image from a jpg which You can find on http://www.oliver-lazar.de/dicom/test.dcm. Now I would like to modify the tags with dcmtk dcmodify.

This works fine so far, but when I use the parameter +te (write with explicit VR little endian TS) I only get an error message: couldn't save file: Pixel representation cannot be changed.

Has anybody an idea?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

dcmodify is not made to decode the image on the fly. So these transfer syntax options only work if the image already is in one of the uncompressed transfer syntaxes.

You should run dcmdjpeg (module dcmjpeg) first to decompress the file into the desired uncompressed TS.

Regards,
Michael
