Using worklists without a central server

#1 Post by levend »

Hi!
Is there a way to use worklist management without a central worklist server? We have a lot of clients, where doctors can request modality, and a few imaging machines, where these requests are processed. Is there a way to the clients push works to the machines directly, or we need to develop a worklist server from where the machines can pick up worklists?
Thanks,
Levend

DICOM Modality Worklist uses a "pull" model query, i.e. the modality has to explicitly connect to a worklist server and request a list of work items. There is no way to connect to a modality and "push" work items to the machine. So, yes, you need a central worklist server.
