Hi,
DCMTK is a toolkit written in C++ and partly, plain C. So if you want to use it from Java, you have to use the Java Native Interface (JNI)in order to "wrap" the DCMTK functions that you need.
Alternatively, you can call ready-to-use DCMTK tools from your java programs in order to utilize DCMTK DICOM services.
