Hello there,
when creating a DicomDir with dcmmkdir.exe the 0010,0030 tag is not respected. Most of the DicomDir files created by other vendors include this information, why not dcmmkdir? I can not find anything in Dicom Part 10 document about this data tag.
regards,
Andreas

Patient's Birth Date (0010,0030) is not required for all application profiles (i.e. type 3). The attribute is type 2 for the three cardiac profiles and type 1C for the rather new General Purpose DVD, USB & Flash and MPEG2 profiles. In case you want to add this attribute for other application profiles your need to modify DicomDirInterface::buildPatientRecord() in "dcmdata/libsrc/dcddirif.cc".
Btw, part 10 is the wrong document to look at. The general directory records are described in part 3, application profiles in part 11.
