storescu with lossless image with an IconImageSequence

Is the following error occurring on the client side (i.e. in storescu v3.6.1) or on the receiving end?

Is dcmdump able to parse this particular DICOM file?

Yes dcmdump parses the file without errors. Note that the image is sent successfully in both these scenarios:

1- The image is uncompressed using dcmdjpeg prior to sending.
2- The image, still compressed, is stripped from the IconImageSequence using dcmodify prior to sending.

So I presume the error is from storescu?

Did you already check whether sending the file to storescp works without errors? Do you see more details in debug/trace mode?
Since you are using DCMTK 3.6.1 (i.e. a recent snapshot), could you also try whether this problem exists with dcmsend (SCU) and/or dcmrecv (SCP)?
